06 Aug Locus Robotics: A New Partnership
We’re excited to announce that Balloon has entered a partnership with Locus Robotics. So, we’re now an official reseller of the industry’s most technologically advanced AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots). Adding robots to our range of products and services extends what we do and fits our aim of being a true end-to-end supply chain solutions provider.
Locus Robotics’ AMRs – called LocusBots – work collaboratively with human workers to drive increased efficiency and improved accuracy in the warehouse. LocusBots autonomously help with the picking and transporting of goods, using virtually any tote, box, bin, or container. They can be deployed in as little as four weeks, and are proven to quickly enhance picking and bring productivity gains by 200-300%.
Says Denis Niezgoda, Director of Business Development, Europe, at Locus Robotics: “Locus Robotics is excited to partner with Balloon One, a proven leader in innovative supply chain solutions. In times of social distancing, increasing scarcity of resources and margin pressure, productivity gains at low entry costs are needed more than ever. Together, we will empower retailers and third party fulfillment (3PL) providers in Europe to address these challenges and achieve higher efficiency and throughput.”
Once only a technological dream for many warehouses, robots are fast becoming the norm. They are increasingly seen as essential to warehouse operations of many sizes, and it’s important for Balloon to provide our customers with this unique and significant advantage.
Locus AMRs can be seamlessly integrated with industry-leading HighJump Warehouse Management System (WMS) and can be implemented into an existing warehouse without any expensive infrastructure changes. Customers can deploy the LocusBots in their operation via a cost-effective and innovative “robots-as-a-service” (RaaS) business model – effectively on a subscription basis.
Says Craig Powell, Balloon Managing Director: “This partnership with Locus Robotics enables Balloon to equip our clients with a cost-effective productivity tool for managing the increased demand for e-commerce fulfilment. The robots-as-a-service model we’re offering helps our customers to realise efficiency gains and address the challenges of the labour market with a very low start-up cost.”
